Description
The purpose for these rear clamps is to get rid of the rubber straps that are glued on or pressed on strap. The OEM design eventually fails when you actively use your vehicle with and upgraded suspension. The upgraded suspension typically has more travel than OEM setup. Once the rubber straps are taken passed the OEM travel numbers, they start to break down and fail. When this happens, the hard link and the KDSS shock is able to slide inward. The worse case scenario is the shock has moved inward towards the middle of sway bar. If you were to take a really hard hit with the KDSS shock at an angle, you run the risk of bending the shaft as it compresses.
The long term affects with having it misaligned is the shaft will wear on the shaft seal and eventually create a leak. These shocks are sealed units are not meant to be rebuilt so if it comes to that point, you will be forking out a lot more then you want.
One pair is needed only for inside of rear KDSS shock or hard link.
