Our GX 470 rear bumper is a tube-style bumper that will provide the maximum amount of departure angle while still having a hitch receiver. The hitch receiver section has six bolts that secure the bumper to the frame compared to four on the factory receiver. Having six bolts instead of four increases the receiver's strength compared to the factory.
The tubing material used is US-sourced authentic DOM and not HREW. DOM tubing is almost twice as strong as HREW, so it can take a beating and not bend or crack at the seam. The frame plates are US-sourced high-quality 1/4-inch steel and not mill-scale mild steel—the quality steel used guarantees that the powder coat will adhere better and last longer.
The bumper requires cutting of the factory rear bumper. The instructions on cutting the bumper will be shown below (coming soon). Two mounting holes on the outer section of the lower tube will allow for a single or two-pod light. For example, you can use a Baja Designs S1 or S2 or a Diode Dynamics SSC1 or SSC2(shown in photo).
